The Power Hour
Do you have a Power Hour?
I do.
The Power Hour is what I call the first hour of the day after I wake up. Everything that happens during this hour sets me up to be unstoppable throughout the day.
And it’s my intent to encourage you to have your own Power Hour.
So what happens during this time?
First, I awaken to the sound of the music that really pumps me up. Since the usual beeping sound is too irritating, I changed it with the music that I like. Specifically, one that helps start my day with the right energy.
I also make sure that my alarm is set to go off before anybody else is awake. That way, I can enjoy this time for myself before the chaos of the day happens.
The moment I get up, the first thing I do is to drink a big glass of water. This is a priority and it’s one thing that you should also do. There’s no need to make your first drink of the day fancy. Just plain water and you’re good to go.
Once that’s done, I go to that sacred place I have at home. This is a place I have chosen where nobody will bother me.
Because in this place, I intend to meditate in peace. If you don’t know how to meditate, you can easily find a video online or download an app. This only takes 15 minutes. But it’s very important to help you get centered.
After that, I take out my journal and I write. This really helps me process my thoughts. I focus my mind on what bothers me and end it with a positive one.
I also take this time to write a note to my wife and daughter using post-it notes. It helps us feel connected even if I’m busy with work.
Finally, I end that with a morning workout and a bit of reading.
That is what happens during my Power Hour.
